Only wireless connection available

There are two main ways to connect a mouse: wired or wireless, with the latter being further divided into 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth, but the BASILISK X HYPERSPEED can only be connected wirelessly.

You can use either 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth. You need to select which way to connect with the switch on the back of the device. For 2.4GHz wireless, you need to connect the USB-A dongle to your PC.

I use 2.4GHz wireless and haven't noticed any lag.

It does not support wired connections, and does not even have a port for inserting a cable.

The battery is not rechargeable, but a single AA battery

The battery of BASILISK X HYPERSPEED is not rechargeable, but is a AA battery. One battery can run for 285 hours with 2.4GHz wireless and 450 hours with Bluetooth. Since it can be used for a long time, you don't need to replace it very often.

The battery compartment is secured with a magnet, so you can easily open and close it by pushing it with your finger. There's no need to use a screwdriver to unscrew it or open it with your fingernails.

The body feels a bit rough to the touch

Some mice have a smooth body, but the BASILISK X HYPERSPEED has a slightly rough surface. Although it is only a small amount, it may provide a better grip than a smooth mouse.

It's a matter of preference, but if you prefer a smooth feel, you might want to look for a different mouse.

The wheels are large and easy to turn

The wheel you use to scroll through windows is large, so it's easy to turn.

There are many small dots on it, which allow your fingers to catch on it a little, making it difficult for your fingers to slip. When you press it in, you hear a clicking sound.

The side buttons are large and easy to press.

There are two side buttons, which are large and easy to press.

You can change the button assignments using a dedicated software called Razer Synapse. I assign copy Windows shortcuts to each button.

The DPI switching button is difficult to accidentally press.

There is a button under the wheel that lets you instantly switch DPI settings, but since it doesn't stick out, it's hard to press the wrong button.

You can also limit the DPI to one instead of multiple settings, so there's no problem even if you press the wrong button.

Shorter height than the G703h

I have also used the Logitech G703h, but this one is shorter in height and felt strange when I held it for the first time.

When I was using the G703h, I naturally ended up with a palm grip, but with the BASILISK X HYPERSPEED, it's like a middle ground between a palm grip and a claw grip. The discomfort went away naturally as I used it.

The way you hold it will vary depending on the size of your hand, so please don't just take this information at face value, but use it as a reference.

Very good value for money so highly recommended

I didn't notice any major issues when using it, so I think it's a very easy-to-use gaming mouse.

The price is also good for less than 10,000 yen, so it's great value for money! I also recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap gaming mouse!
